Open Early MaY through Mid October
The Ship’s Knees Inn is open for 6 months each year and in addition to providing a convenient and comfortable retreat from the hustle and bustle of Cape Cod’s busier times, also provides a welcoming respite from cooler temperatures and Mother Nature’s vagaries of mood at all other times of year. Stalwart guests brave winter’s chill to take in quiet season theater throughout the Cape, to revel in the solitude and romance which star-lit and moon-lit winter strolls along the Atlantic engender. Sturdier visitors might be tempted to wind or kite surf at Nauset during these cold months, when surf is prodigious yet provides truly thrilling rides. It is also the season when values run the gamut, from high-value lodging at the Inn, tempting winter dining specials, art galleries clearing the previous year’s works to make room for works created during the colder months, shoppers will find good values in many of the Cape’s one-of-a kind shops and boutiques to antiques shops where shop keepers are mischievously haggling with visitors to move some merchandise during the slower season. Many guests take delight in visiting the Lower Cape during late autumn, deep winter and early spring, when defoliated trees provide vistas unseen at other times of year, when secluded beaches give voice to the sentiment “if you like long deserted stretches of beach, you are not alone, although you very well could be.”
Wide Variety of Accommodations
The Inn features sixteen guest rooms including the Nauset suite, fifteen with en suite private bathrooms and our newest accommodation, the Ocean View King with a private bath located across the hall. Of these, there are six king-bedded rooms, nine queen-bedded rooms, & one room features two twin beds that is convertible to a king on request. Additionally, the sun-lit ocean-view apartment features a large picture window and cozy living/dining room with fireplace, large flat screen television, fully-equipped kitchen, and can be utilized with either one or two bedrooms, both of which adjoin the apartment. Each room features completely distinctive décor, themed to enhance the Cape Cod experience. Lovely linens and comforters are in complete accord with color scheme, furnishings and window treatments. In addition, the Inn is outfitted with a wide array of local Orleans art, much of which is original and Cape Cod nautical in motif, signed and one of a kind. Creature comforts such as individual climate control, cable television, refrigerators and Wi-Fi throughout complete the experience. Four accommodations have private entrances. Housekeeping is impeccable and rooms are serviced and inspected regularly by the innkeepers.
